IDN Liveable Cities, as part of Indonesia Diaspora Network in the Netherlands, actively promotes good practices to develop liveable cities in Indonesia and strengthens the bilateral relationships between Indonesia and the Netherlands.

IDN Liveable Cities works on bilateral relation to develop liveable cities

 IDN Liveable Cities is dedicated to promote good practices in spatial planning, urban planning, urban design, landscape and architecture for Indonesian cities, with the purpose of matchmaking stakeholders with the proposal makers, and to accelerate the implementations of selected proposals in form of pilot projects.

To celebrate the Youth Oath Day on 28 September, Indonesia Diaspora Network in the Netherlands Taskforce Liveable Cities (IDN-LC) in collaboration with the Indonesia Diaspora Network in the Netherlands (IDN-NL) and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the Netherlands (KBRI Den Haag) organized an event called, ‘Indonesia Liveable Cities Update 2022’.

This July, IDN Liveable Cities has an exciting news. Three new team members join the Task Force Team and will work side by side with the Task Force Drivers. Beside this, Wiwi Tjiook was appointed as the new Chair of IDN Liveable Cities altogether with the new Board Members of Indonesian Diaspora Network in the Netherlands (IDN-NL). Her inauguration was done on June 26, 2020 and was lead by I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja, the Ambassador of Republic Indonesia for the Netherlands period 2016-2020.

On June 26, 2020, I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja, officially ended his duty as the Ambassador of Republic Indonesia for the Netherlands after four years of duty to represent Indonesia in the Netherlands. His great contribution has also acknowledged by the Kingdom of the Netherlands which represented by an award given by the King Willem Alexander, namely Ridder Grootkruis in de Orde Van Oranje-Nassau on June 12, 2020. Before his departure, a series of farewell event was held by various parties followed by handover ceremony to Fikry Cassidy, the Vice Representative of Indonesia for the Netherlands and the inauguration ceremony of the new Board of Indonesia Diaspora Network in the Netherlands (IDN-NL).

On June 3, 2020, Indonesia Diaspora Network the Netherlands, Taskforce Liveable Cities (IDN Liveable Cities) was represented by Wiwi Tjiook , Driver of Integrated Water and Landscape Planning as one of the panelists for the webinar “Food and Landscape Urbanity”. This webinar was organized by the Architecture Department of University of Lampung (UNILA) in co-operation with Indonesian Association of Architects (IAI) , Indonesian Society of Landscape Architects (IALI), Indonesian Association of Planners – Lampung Chapter (IAP) and was the first in a series of 4 which will be hold every 2 weeks. Each session will feature 2 speakers from different background who will reflect on the current COVID 19 pandemic situation affecting cities and public space. The webinar was joined by more than 150 participants from across Indonesia as well as diaspora in Australia, Singapore and The Netherlands.
